Dr. Weeks and his clinical staff take great pride in the fact that our sterilization techniques are in accordance to American Dental Association and Center for Disease Control Standards.
We use a four step process that eliminates the potential for cross contamination among patients.
The contaminated Instruments are placed in an enzyme soak that eats away any debris on the instruments.
The Instruments are then placed in an ultrasonic cleaner where high speed vibration of a detergent solution insures the final removal of any debris.
The instrument trays are then wrapped in a specialized barrier material which helps maintain sterility following being autoclaved.
The wrapped instruments are then sterilized in autoclaves that utilize heat and steam under pressure. This is the most recognized form of sterilization in the medical and dental professions.
Sterilized instrument trays are stored in cabinets away from contaminants.
